Picture this, because we have all been there! Walking down the street on a normal beautiful afternoon and all of a sudden you trip on something; all hell breaks loose, and you end up rushing three to five steps forward. You gather your posture and look back to check what happened, and then you resume your walk as if nothing happened, perhaps a little more attentive (or not!) to the street. That was a display of physical resilience, and we all want that but, today let’s talk about mental and emotional resilience.
In our quest to cool off the heat to keep up with the grace of no age… I will share with you a trick, backed by the science of high performance, that we can use to “hack” our bodies to keep our cool. We can do this for free, with no special product, no special diet, and no special state of mind.
As I sit to write this piece, that is exactly how I feel right now. My house is upside down. The furniture and closets have been moved to allow for painters working inside the house. The kittens are jumping all over the mess and wanting to go outside. My husband is watching the live streaming of the Virgin Galactic space trip with Richard Branson and trying to share the historical moment with me. Loud noises enter from outside as we keep doors and windows open to dissipate paint smells. And I’m on a deadline to submit a paper.
